The top priority of parents is to keep your children safe at all times. Whether they are outside or inside the house, you’d want to have the ability to know what is going on with them. As most parents come to realize sooner or later, it’s impossible to be where they are all the time.
For this reason, it’s desirable to have the ability to monitor your children at all times. Luckily modern technology has provided tools that make this possible.
These incredible devices are known as wireless baby monitors, and they have many benefits. They will allow you to take care of other household duties while at the same time keeping a close eye on your baby.
I decided to spend some time researching the subject in order to find out what goes into a great wireless baby monitor. In this article I will present you with my findings on the Samsung SEW-3037 wireless video baby monitor which comes with infrared night vision and zoom.
Some of the great features of the SEW-3037
A wireless video baby monitor’s main function is to allow you to watch your baby. Because of this, one obvious feature that a good monitor should come with is a large video screen. The Samsung model has this capability. It comes with a 3.5 inch LCD 640×480 color screen with 2x zoom capability. This allows you to see every detail of what is going on.
Another thing to keep in mind is the mobility of the camera. There are times when your baby is awake and may be playing in a playpen or something similar. Given the fact that he/she moves around a little bit you would want to get a monitoring camera with the ability to pan and swivel. The SEW-3037 is capable of this without a problem. It has easy controls that allow you to pan 150 degrees to the left or to the right, as well as tilt the lens 100 degrees up or down. This provides the ability to watch your baby wherever he/she goes.
It also comes with an option to talk to your child so that you can reassure and soothe. To this end it’s imperative to have a system that allows you to speak to and hear your child, Samsung has a built in microphone that allows for that. In addition, it has sound level LCD lights that indicate when there’s a sound so that you notice it right away, even when there’s noise around you.
There may be times when you need to run into the yard or to the car for a second, knowing this I selected this baby monitor based on a decent transmission range. The Samsung monitor has a range of up to 900 feet which is more than adequate. It also uses a 2.4 gigahertz frequency range which means that you get a signal even if a microwave, router, or cellphone is in use. The SEW-3037 comes with infrared night vision as well, which is becoming quite the standard.
This system also allows for handling the use of several cameras at once, since this provides enhanced capability to see what’s happening in the baby room. The Samsung model can be expanded to up to 4 cameras for maximum coverage.
Altogether It comes with all of the modern features you could wish for, and the only downside I can think of is the fact that it’s slightly more expensive than some other brands.
I did research on several other models such as the Infant Options DXR-5, but after careful thought I recommend this Samsung model instead. As I said it costs a little bit more, but the extra few dollars mean little when compared to the safety of your little one.
If you want the same level of security that I have, I would urge you to take a look at the Samsung baby monitor. I’m sure that if you do, you will be as satisfied as I am.
