Ever since I gave birth to my little daughter I have always been afraid that if something were to happen to her when I’m not around, I’d feel really guilty about it. These thoughts were pressuring me a lot and making me feel very uncomfortable every single time I had to leave the house. However there’s a whole range of baby monitors available to take away those fears. After careful research and reading dozens of reviews I decided to review the Infant Optics DXR-8 video baby monitor with interchangeable optical lens.
See what your baby is doing
One of the best features is the fact it comes with a very sleek and compact 3.5 inch LCD display which has amazing color and clarity. It’s easy to see what your little angel is doing no matter if the room is dark or well lit and this provides peace of mind and should help you sleep better as well. This baby monitor has many amazing features that I could keep talking about on and on though I didn’t expect it would have infrared vision. Thanks to this feature it’s easy to see what your baby is doing at any given hour at night and you can also take pictures of him/her.
Better than many other video monitors
Honestly speaking, I’ve had a very tough time recommending the right baby monitor, since I am a very picky person. For instance, before I focused on this one, I was planning to recommend the Samsung SEW-3037W, but eventually found out it’s not such a great option for me. For one, that model loses resolution since it has a digital zoom, while this model features an optical lens which maintains a crisp resolution at all times.
If you want, you can also get the optional wide angle lens in order to capture the entire room and get a complete 180-degree panoramic view. And let’s not forget about the room temperature sensor this model has which always lets you know if your baby room is too hot or too cool.
Control the camera via remote control
One thing I was still a bit worried about is controlling the camera in order to get the view you want. Luckily, this model has panning and tilting features that can give you a great view of the entire room. According to the instructions manual, you can easily hook up the display unit to at least 4 more cameras. Now that’s what I call being able to monitor your little angel’s every move and it certainly helps feel more comfortable when leaving your home for more than an hour.
Some of the Pros
- Exceptional image quality thanks to the optic lens
- Crisp LCD screen with vivid colors and amazing image accuracy.
- Ability to use 2 interchangeable lenses for a wider view
- Night vision so you can easily see what your baby is doing at night.
And Some Cons
- The baby monitor emits an annoying beeping noise whenever it goes into sleep mode.
- No soothing music or lullabies included that would help the baby fall asleep faster.
All in all, if you want to feel perfectly comfortable whenever you leave your house that you can still keep an eye on your baby, make sure you get this baby video monitor right away!
